Four years after the release of their debut album, Nielsen, Grainger & Strauss, Chicago-based chamber ensemble Lake Effect Clarinet Quartet returns with a new album: Cooler by the Lake. This exciting collection of music arranged for four clarinets features longtime LECQ favorites, such as George Gershwin's Three Preludes and Felix Mendelssohn's "Scherzo" from A Midsummer Night's Dream, as well as brand new works from arranger-in-residence, Erin Miesner. From the joyful “stamps” of Scott Joplin’s The Ragtime Dance, to the soulful expression of Johannes Brahms’ Intermezzo, and concluding with the technical fireworks of Gustav Holst's St. Paul's Suite, this delightful set of pieces is sure to convince you that it really is "Cooler by the Lake."
